Sharjah Taxi has announced a strong performance for 2025, reporting that it transported more than 9.31 million passengers throughout the year. This marks an impressive growth of over 25% compared to 2024, highlighting the rising demand for the company’s transportation services across the emirate.
A significant portion of riders, around 917,000 passengers, booked their trips through the smart mobility application “Yango”, reflecting the growing shift toward digital and app-based transportation solutions. In addition, 760,000 passengers were served across Sharjah’s Eastern and Central regions, demonstrating the company’s expanding reach and commitment to serving all communities within the emirate.
Commenting on the achievement, Khalid Al Kindi, Managing Director of Sharjah Taxi, explained that the strong passenger numbers reflect the public’s increasing trust in the company’s service quality and reliability. He noted that the steady growth confirms Sharjah Taxi’s efforts to provide a modern, efficient, and customer-focused transportation experience.

“These results clearly show the rising demand for our services and the confidence people place in our fleet,” Al Kindi said. “They support our vision of delivering a premium transport experience that meets the daily needs of our customers while continuously improving service standards across Sharjah.”
Al Kindi also highlighted Sharjah Taxi’s commitment to environmental sustainability. As part of its long-term strategy to reduce carbon emissions and promote cleaner transportation, the company has introduced hybrid vehicles that operate on both fuel and electricity. This initiative forms part of a wider plan to minimize pollution and support Sharjah’s vision for a greener future.
He further revealed that Sharjah Taxi aims to convert its entire fleet to environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles by 2027, aligning with the Government of Sharjah’s sustainability goals. This move follows the environmental vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to position the emirate as an eco-conscious and sustainable destination.
Beyond standard city taxi services, Sharjah Taxi offers a wide range of specialized and integrated transport solutions. These include airport taxi services, women-only taxis, family taxis, luxury limousine services, school transportation under the “Rafaq” program, and dedicated services for people with disabilities, as well as transport services across the Eastern and Central regions.
